In Vein Magazine was founded to explore the realities of addiction, recovery, mental health, grief, and resilience.

Through personal stories, interviews, research, and community voices, we aim to create honest conversations about substance use disorders and the people affected by them.

We do not claim to have all the answers. Instead, we seek to share experiences, encourage understanding, and help break the stigma surrounding addiction.

About the Founder

In Vein Magazine was founded by Tracy Newby, a photographer, author, and editor who has experienced the effects of addiction both personally and through the loss of friends and loved ones.

After overcoming prescription opioid addiction, Tracy dedicated himself to telling stories that often go unheard—stories of recovery, loss, mental health, and hope.
